Despite the high prices, I very much enjoyed the Early Years boxed set
and (to a little lesser degree) the Later Years set.

Saw Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets a couple months ago, and they
    put on a fantastic show.

There you go. It was even on topic.

Yah, it doesn't have eye candy so there's not much left of it. The
political groups are still active and there are still trolls there but
most groups are dead or are just crossposted. alt.fan.rush-limbaugh
is one of the few still active groups and political posters from left
to right gather there for discussion. Lots of crossposting brings in
other nearly dead groups so with crossposting, comprehensive and
    detailed discussion is possible.

I'm a later years fan. A big motivation for purchase was the enhanced
DSOT vid and the extra MLOR live tracks that weren't included on the
DSOT vid or cd. A couple of them came from their stop in my home
    town.

The written science fiction newsgroup (rec.arts.sf.written) still gets
enough posts that I sometimes have trouble keeping up with it. But
yeah, other than that one most of the groups I used to read are dead.
And even in r.a.sf.w it seems like most of the posters are in their
60s or 70s, so it's probably just a matter of time until that one
    dwindles away too.

Almost every post in alt.politics.democrats shows up in the Republican
and limbaugh groups. Talk.politics.guns is frequently cross posted
from there as well as a survival group and various others.

It's an hour or three to get through them each day but the discussion
    is rewarding.

What Floyd tunes are in your regular rotation lately?

When the Covid lockdowns first started I was allowed to work from home
and I'm still doing that four days a week, so I put together a huge
playlist (around 4,000 hours) of everything I own and just started
letting it play in random order. I'm still less than half-way through
it. Occasionally a Floyd song will pop up, but I haven't sought out
anything specific to listen to in a while.

I guess the closest I've come to listening to a full Pink Floyd album
in the last few months is when I went to see Roger Waters in Philly.
I bought his "Us + Them" on blu-ray and CD and watched/listened to it
    to prepare for the show.

My wife's been playing that album David Gilmour recorded with The Orb
a lot lately. She's a big Gilmour fan.

I'm sure eventually I'll get back in the mood to hear some Floyd and
start going through all their albums again. Usually happens every
    couple years.

I'm semi retired and work from home seasonally.

I bought Roger's latest album. I couldn't get through the first song.
I tried the next. Nyet. Another track. Ick. I've never put it on
    since.

    Hadn't heard about that. I've missed amp-f.

Just scanned through that at Youtube. Has a lot in common with early
to Obscured Floyd, at least when Gilmour is playing. It caught my
    attention for a bit.

I'm sure eventually I'll get back in the mood to hear some Floyd and

Same here except for my extreme fondness for TWLIB *other* than CN. I hatehatehate the way Van Morrison and The Band sang it. Lol!

Live in Berlin has been getting a lot of time. Young Lust is in at
    least three different playlists. :)

Personally, I like The Final Cut more than The Wall, but some of that
might be because I first got into Pink Floyd not long after Final Cut
came out and my college friends and I listened to it frequently.
Usually late at night at high volume and with a large number of beers.

For what it's worth, the only Final Cut song Waters played on his
recent tour was Two Suns in the Sunset.

To each his own, but I liked his new one. Has a lot of "classic
Floyd" touches to it. Sure, Roger compares himself to God in the
first song, but that's pretty much to be expected from Waters.

It took me a couple minutes to figure out what "TWLIB" stood for. I
have The Wall Live in Berlin on VHS tape, and by amazing coincidence I
just got my hands on a working VCR to transfer some old tapes to
digital. Maybe I'll have to give that a viewing - I haven't watched it
    in decades.
