    there's a tool to convert ANSI to ASCII, so I made ASCII version of my
    menus. If you call with an ASCII terminal, it automatically displays an
    .ASC menu file.

    You miss out on the ANSI art, but it's relatively easy to set up.

    Doesn't any normal BBS software do this by default if you have MAIN.ANS and MAIN.ASC ... unless you have ANSI set to NOT autodetect, it would fall back to the.ASC menu. Nothing new there.
