One of m y favourite eady to make & rich tasting desserts.
Especially good when it's cold out & you want to just wrap up on the couch(holding a 1L mug of Hot Toddy) & let stuff cook in the Crock Pot, or it's hot out & you don't want to generate heat with the oven or stove burners, so you haul out the slow cooker.
2 cans of pie filling (your choice) 1 box cake mix (your choice)
1 stick of butter
put pie filling in crock pot
then dump cake mix on top of filling then melt the butter and pour over top of cake mix cook on low for 3 hours.
i got it off here and i used apple and a caramel cake mix was so amazing
I prefer a rich chocolate cake mix, & cherry pie filling, bhut experiment o find your fav combo -- it's literally as easy as you see in the above recipe & oh sooo good!
A stick of butter is a half cup. Works with brick margarine, too, we've found.
Let me know what combos you've tried & how you liked them; I'm trying to figure out how to do a spice cake mixed with pumpkin pie filing (I think as-is it'll be too dry, so I think I'll have to mix in some sweetened condensed milk to achieve the right consistency, & a few more spices to keep the flavour up high.
I gotta try the caramel one for my wife (caramel is her favourite sweet treat these days!)
Anyhow, hmu with your pet recipes for a quick dessert or meal; preferably one pot.. . .
